80年代初頭にLAポストパンク・アクトAfterimageの一員として活動したBarry Craig（A Produce）が、既存の地下シーンに対して新たに掲げた「Trance Music」の制作拠点/ローカル・コミュニティTrance Port Tapes。3番目のタイトルとなる本作「持続する空間」はAn BeneとPierre Lambowの男女デュオによる唯一の共作。淡くぼやけた水辺のサウンドスケープに電子音が揺らめくA1"Celestial", A4"LA Mantra"（TPTには同名のコンピレーション作もあり）、ローファイなリズムトラックを基調にシンセ/電子鈴が重なるB1"No Sun"など、羊水退行/ノスタルジアの享楽へと誘う実験的なミニマルウェイヴは、Cluster/Roedeliusや現在のレトロ志向の深海系ドローンと近しい耳心地で、LA版「Danzindan-Pojidon（ダンジンダン・ポジドン）」とも呼びたくなる作風。Pierre Lambowは、Barry CraigとのユニットIn The Distanceとしても活動。Trance Port Tapesは本作のほか、レーベルのインスピレーション源でもある幻覚剤研究家/心理学者Timothy Learyをはじめ、Michael Jon FinkやChas SmithらCold Blue周辺のポストミニマル作曲家とLAFMSフリーミュージック勢により結成されたStillife、スポークンワード・ファンクRandall Kennedy、ローファイ・エレクトロJohn J. Lafiaなど、83-84年の間に全9タイトルをリリースされています。

An Bene was A Produce's girlfriend at the beginning of the 1980's. And Pierre Lambow was his collaborator (both A Produce and Pierre Lambow played in The Rock group "The Blank Ensemble" in the 1970's).
